TBAHC_Chapter - 1

31st December 2017, Time : 11.30pm

Opening the door of his empty apartment,  Arnav move straight to the kitchen. he is hell of hungry, and then this disturbed thought and sudden loneliness do nothing but add more fuel to his headache which is partly due to hunger too.

“I shouldn’t have gone to that stupid party” muttering to himself he search through the refrigerator
YES! He shouldn’t have, but it’s his best friend’s party after all and how can he deny that.
Nihal Sharma is one of the few friends that Arnav Singh Raizada have , is throwing a party on the completion of one full year of his married life. Or you may say a bliss full perfect year. His wife Swati Sharma, is a Doctor by profession and they have met when Nihal had a bad accident and had to stay in hospital for more than a month. They say love has come knocking at their door when they have least expected it or needed it. But they have eventually realised their love for each other and officially become each other’s last year after two full year of dating, convincing the family etc etc.

Given any other day Arnav might have refuse this nonsense by the back of his hand and may be made fun of his friends who according to him just made a compromise and changed himself from a playboy to a perfect family man, and will soon wear off.

But today, something did happen. The look with which his friend look at Swati every time, the respect he has seen on her eyes for Nihaal. The way his eyes smile with mirth every time they catch each other’s eyes across the hall. He couldn’t stand it anymore ,the more he stay there the more he realise the hollowness growing in his life.

So without any delay, he conveyed his well wishes and come back without waiting for the countdown for the new year  nor for the dinner which left him now hungry, alone in his apartment searching for  something edible.

The beep in his phone momentarily distract him as he took out the phone to see a message from his manager .

“ Sir , I have appointed a new Chef for you, Her name is Khushi Kumari Gupta ,                                     she will be there first thing in the morning . Happy new year”

The small massage do loosen his mind to some extent , well at least one problem is solved. It’s a girl but nevertheless it is better than his Grandmother to come running all the way to here and start her rant about marriage and how it will be good to have a wife to take care of him.

A smile appeared on his face as the thought crossed his mind, in the name of family he only has his Grandmother, well he do have uncle , aunt and cousins, but it is her that he felt close to .

Arnav settled himself with some slice of bread and milk facing the large glass wall of his large living room, opening to the busy traffic view of the city. The city is fully decorated with lights and the sky are  occasionally lighted up with the fire crackers. The full city is welcoming the new year. People are celebrating with their dear and near ones,

From far afar the bell of large city clock strike twelve at night , and the city erupt with joy.
Arnav looked at the starlit sky, sitting alone in his dim lit apartment, with a confused mind, hunted past and with a heart earning for Love,

Hope this year will brought peace to his heart......

In the mean time on the other part of City.........

“ Congratulation ! you have appointed as  Chef.
Please report @New_Home apartment , Flat no – 43, sharp at 7 in the morning “

As she read and reread the message again and again, happiness knows no bound as two drops of tear made its way down from her eyes.

This year surely gonna be the best year.
